Arthur Allen, while living in Japan as a missionary, made the initial outreach to the Philippines in 1962, and that same year, a pastor was named at Bagong Sikat. Since then, other missionaries have encouraged the work, including most recently Bill McKibben, and the result has been 19 churches.
