From the Superintendent's DESK
On Sunday, January 8, Fernan “Roque” Fiegalan was installed as the Philippines District Superintendent at the Bagong Sikat headquarters church.
The installation took place during the sixth anniversary service commemorating the dedication of the current headquarters building. The announcement was made by Bill McKibben, Director of East Asia Work. He gave a short exhortation from Joshua 1:5-9 on the transition of leadership after Moses’ death. He then spoke of the Biblical process for choosing a leader and the qualifications that person must meet, including being called. He presented Brother Roque, describing him as a man of integrity who is faithful and loyal to God, the Apostolic Faith, and leadership. The congregation voiced their support with hearty Amens.
Among the qualifying factors, Brother Roque received the three foundational Christian experiences and has been active in the church as a Sunday school teacher, driver, musician, and minister. In addition, he has pastored several branch locations, and most recently served at the headquarters church, assisting the late district superintendent Joey Ruiz, as associate pastor. More of his testimony can be read in the April 2021 edition of The Apostolic Faith magazine.
To complete the installation, the platform ministers and Board of Trustees gathered around Brother Roque, laid hands on him, and prayed for God’s blessing on his leadership and family.
We also pray for Brother Roque and Sister Elaida with their three children, Xyz, Ily, and Dew, along with the Philippine saints and work. As we lift them up in prayer, we know that God will guide and bless.
In addition to Sunday’s installation service, the last week of 2022 and first week of 2023 included year-end services, a church dedication, and other special activities. A report with details about those events will be posted in the coming days.
