The 2025 Australia Camp Meeting took place September 28 to October 5 with brethren from all corners of the country converging in Sydney. Delegates came from South Australia, Queensland, Victoria, and Western Australia. In addition, others joined online from both within Australia and beyond the shorelines.
From the first strike of the organ and orchestra playing “Holy Spirit Thou Art Welcome,” an atmosphere of great joy and expectation filled the air. This continued as Sam Ajayi, the Director of Australia Work, read greetings from around the world giving assurances of prayer for God’s blessings to flow.
Brother Sam preached the opening message from Titus 2:11-12, highlighting this year’s camp theme of “Under the Canopy of Grace.” He said God’s grace is available to all. However, only those who seek a relationship with Him through salvation and continue to live righteously are covered by its protective canopy. He noted several benefits of abiding under God’s canopy, including access to God’s goodness. Then he announced that God has provided a permanent place of worship in Melbourne, and the acquisition is debt free! This news was met with a collective and joyous, “Amen,” and soon the altar area filled with saints praising God. It was an incredible start to the camp meeting.
The evening service was themed “A Night of Praise.” The message, taken from Psalm 126:3 and Isaiah 30:18, emphasized God’s graciousness and mercy to those who wait upon Him. At the conclusion, a second exciting announcement was made—the process of obtaining a permanent place of worship in Sydney has begun. This wonderful news set a tone of gratitude for the powerful prayer meeting that followed.
During the week, morning Bible teachings inspired with the topics of “Sanctification,” “Grow in Grace,” “Christian Perfection” and “Marriage.” In the evenings, evangelistic services were punctuated by powerful messages from God’s Word. On Monday, the Melbourne Group Leader, Frank Igweonu, preached on the leading and guiding of “Jesus, the Shepherd of Our Souls.” On Tuesday, Emmanuel Tshuma of Sydney encouraged everyone to “Humble Yourself.” On Wednesday, Lekan Olagookun of Melbourne spoke about seeking God earnestly in a message titled “Mean Business.” On Friday, Earnest Akerejola, who is the Australia Resident District Superintendent, preached on “Jesus Is Here,” urging all to take advantage of the opportunity to pray.
Other services during the week included Children’s Church in which Mabasa Mapfumo, the Brisbane Group Leader, told the enthusiastic listeners that Jesus has great plans for children. A youth service was also held, and Emmanuel Esan, who recently moved to Australia from Nigeria, preached from Titus 2:11. He brought out that Jesus is the personification of God’s grace.
Throughout the week, many testified of God’s goodness, including the Perth Group Leader, Michael Chiutare. He thanked God for saving him, giving him a wife in the Gospel, and healing their first child. He also said that his wife had cancer and was told that the treatment would leave her unable to have more children. However, God intervened and gave them a second child. Shade Ajayi also testified, telling how God transformed her life, bringing her into the Gospel from a Muslim family.
During the final devotional service, it was announced that next year’s camp meeting is scheduled for September 27 to October 4, and the Melbourne special meetings for October 9-11. In addition, should the Lord tarry, it is hoped that two church dedications will take place, and a group in Adelaide will be launched. For the closing message, Brother Sam took his text from Hebrews 6:1-3 and encouraged all to remain under God’s canopy of grace as they return to their respective locations.
