This year’s Angola camp meeting was initially canceled due to threats of political unrest. However, it became possible to hold a scaled-down version, bringing together local congregations from the Huambo Province with national leaders. This took place August 21-24 at the headquarters church in Huambo. In addition to this, every branch church across the country held special meetings from August 17-24.
The camp meeting in Huambo featured Bible teachings, revival services with testimonies of victory, children’s services, a concert, and training sessions for Gospel workers. These meetings provided a foundation for sinners to pray through and for brethren to be spiritually edified, encouraged, and equipped.
Among the other activities, leaders of the work met to review outreach and expansion strategies nationwide. During the gathering, the provincial pastors gave progress reports for their regions, highlighting both the challenges and successes they have experienced while spreading the Gospel. Then, the group discussed ways to evangelize, establish and strengthen new branches, and increase the church’s presence in more communities.
One particularly memorable moment of the camp meeting was when the youth made a heartfelt gesture to the Angola District Superintendent, Antonio Castilho. In recognition of his tireless dedication and exemplary leadership, they surprised him with a new vehicle. Brother Antonio, together with his wife, Ana, received the gift with deep joy and gratitude. He reaffirmed his commitment of giving God his best, saying he would continue to travel across the country spreading the Gospel message. His words of appreciation to God and the church inspired both young and old, leaving a lasting impression on all present.
Although this year’s Angola camp meeting was scaled back, many people attended and prayed earnestly to receive all that God had for them. It was evident in the testimonies and reports of blessings that God answered those prayers. Many received divine healing, their foundational Christian experiences, and more. As the meetings concluded, participants departed from Huambo uplifted, encouraged, and spiritually revived, ready to return to the field with renewed zeal and commitment.
