Attending services in a beautiful outdoor setting at the foot of the Poiana Rusca mountains in west-central Romania, nearly one hundred received encouragement from God’s Word. They had gathered from nine branch locations at our Valea Lui Liman campsite for the Romania camp meeting, which was held August 2-9.
Gheorghe Macovei, the Eastern Romania District Superintendent, who led the services, opened the meetings by reading a greeting from Superintendent General Sola Adesope. Then he exhorted all from Ephesians 3:20-21, which begins, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think . . .” He urged the campers to take advantage of their time at the campsite to seek God in faith for His will and blessings in their lives.
Throughout the week, morning Bible teachings were given from 2 Timothy, chapter 3, which is an admonishment to continue in the faith as the world further declines into sin. In the afternoons, cookouts provided good food and fellowship.
In the evenings, attendees enthusiastically participated in the services through songs and testimonies. Then the sermons encouraged all to look to God for guidance and strength while facing the challenges of today. Some of the topics were: “Young People and the Dangers of Artificial Intelligence,” “Challenges of the Last Days,” and “Effective Prayer.”
Inspired by beautiful views and timely messages from God’s Word, all who attended the Romania camp meeting had a wonderful time and left strengthened in the Lord.
