Brethren from across Southern and Eastern Africa gathered in Gaborone for the 2025 Botswana camp meeting held July 20-27. Uniting under the powerful theme “The Promises of God,” delegates joined from Angola, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The opening day of the camp meeting, which began with Sunday school, was attended by over three hundred. During the morning devotional service, Lordick Motshidisi, the Botswana District Superintendent, gave a stirring message highlighting the camp theme. He said the promises of God are sure and for each individual, personally. He urged all to approach God with boldness and expectation until His promises are fulfilled in their lives. A good altar service followed.
Throughout the week, the saints gathered each morning for prayer followed by Bible teachings. The topics included “Justification and Its Benefits,” “Sanctification and the Baptism of the Holy Ghost,” “Tithes and Offerings,” “Christian Homes,” and “Christian Fellowship.” In the afternoons, young people took part in the camp meeting with two youth services and a children’s church session. In the evenings, evangelistic services inspired all to examine their hearts before God and pray.
In addition to the church services, the camp meeting featured a variety of activities. A marriage forum, led by Zimbabwe Board Member Kwaziso Bhosha, was well-attended. A workers’ meeting, led by Namibia District Superintendent Zacchaeus Oyedokun, focused on “Good Stewardship.” Also, a vibrant concert on Friday, themed “Promises of Praise,” drew the week’s highest attendance of 414.
On Saturday, five individuals were baptized in water and then the ordinances of “The Lord’s Supper” and “Foot Washing” were observed. By Saturday evening, many had reported victories. The final record would show that seven received salvation, three received sanctification, three were baptized with the Holy Spirit, thirteen were healed, and seventeen were revived. All were given the opportunity to share what God had done for them in a “Testimony and Praise Night.” Among the testimonies, a young woman said God saved her in 2016 when she was a university student, and this week, He answered a long-standing prayer for her. A child thanked God for being with her at school. A couple praised God for saving and keeping them, and for the unity of the family of God. One man said that when he was young, he invested in a future in Heaven and has no regrets. A woman from Zimbabwe said God is her healer, provider, and keeper. A young man said that when he was in darkness, He saw God’s grace and mercy, and he came to the Light. A woman thanked God for answering all her doubts. It was a blessed night, rejoicing in God’s goodness.
The final message of the camp meeting was delivered on Sunday by Edwin Mashau, the South Africa District Superintendent. He spoke on “The Millennial Reign,” offering a fitting close to a powerful and inspiring week of services. The campers departed with hearts full, spirits renewed, and a firm grip on the promises of God, ready to carry the Gospel forward until Christ returns.
