A much-anticipated weekend of special meetings took place at the Western Europe headquarters church in Bexley, England, September 26-28. It included a rededication of the Bexley building following an extensive remodel, which began in May of 2024. The Superintendent General, Sola Adesope, and his wife, Tolu, participated in the happy occasion, along with the West and Central Africa (WECA) District Superintendent, Isaac Adigun, and his wife, Stella.

The weekend meetings commenced with a revival service on Friday evening. During the announcements, Mark Mfandarahwa, the Western Europe District Superintendent, greeted everyone warmly and praised God for His provisions. He also recognized special guests, including Funso and Atinuke Ojo of Oceanside, New York, and Owen Richard Owen of WECA. For the message, Brother Isaac took his key text from Psalm 124:1-2 and spoke on “If Not for God.” He admonished all to appreciate the many things God has done for them—both individually and collectively. Pointing to the completion of the renovations, he encouraged all that God can do beautiful things in their lives. Afterward, many were blessed as they sought the Lord in prayer.

The next day, Brother Sola conducted a session in which he answered questions previously submitted by youth from the United Kingdom churches. The answers had been prepared in conjunction with the Apostolic Faith international board members and emphasized that a Christian’s life should reflect Christ.

In the afternoon, a presentation detailed the recent headquarters renovation. The remodel took place from May of 2024 to June of 2025 in three phases. In the first phase, the prayer room was moved and a new semi-commercial kitchen with kitchenette and dining area was added. In the second phase, a Fellowship Hall and modern restrooms were added. Also, the former Children’s Hall was converted to office space, so the administrative work for Western Europe could be transferred to Bexley. In phase three, the sanctuary was extended and the pastor’s office was converted to a nursery. In addition, several areas near the front of the church received upgrades, including the greeters’ area, main restroom, and audio/video room.

In the evening, a dedication concert, with the theme of “Bless this House,” was a wonderful time in God’s presence. Everyone enjoyed a time of praise and thanksgiving with uplifting pieces presented by the adult and youth choirs, along with the orchestra.

The Sunday services began with Sunday school for all ages, and befittingly, the lesson focused on “Faith” and how it is essential for receiving anything from God. Then, the main highlight of the weekend was the dedication service. Every part of it was done in appreciation for God’s faithfulness in the successful completion of the church building. Special music was featured throughout, presented by a range of musicians from the youth choir to the adult orchestra.

Several special guests were in attendance, including Mayor Christine Catterall, Consort Dave Curtois, and Parliamentarian Louie French. The dedication message was given by Brother Sola. Taking his text from 2 Chronicles 5:13-14, he spoke on “Seven Blessings in the House of the Lord.” He said, “We dedicate this church as a house of unity, prayer, salvation, refuge, sound doctrine, healing, and solutions.” Following this, Brother Isaac gave the dedicatory prayer. Then the choir sang “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” before Brother Owen offered the benediction. Following the service, the saints enjoyed a time of fellowship over lunch and a tour of the renovated headquarters.

That evening, a drama, which was produced and directed by the AFM Bexley Drama Group, was shown in the main sanctuary. It was titled “Remember” and had an impactful message of urging viewers to serve God while young. Following the drama, Adebanji Alade of Bexley gave a brief sermon from Ecclesiastes 12:1-7, reiterating the importance of serving God while young. He also read Matthew 6:20, which begins, “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,” and admonished all to focus on matters of eternal value rather than earthly. Afterward, a sweet time of fellowship followed. Many tarried at the altars in prayer, and the Spirit of God was present to bless.
