On the evening of November 1, the young people gathered in the Fellowship Lodge to enjoy a harvest-themed Youth Focus. Their time together began with an appetizing dinner of chili, homemade cornbread, and veggies. The meal was followed by delicious brownies and ice cream, topped with a chocolate shell, caramel corn, and candy corn.

After eating, it was time for games. Josh Friesen led the group in a tournament of short challenges. The first was a trivia quiz where teams took their best shot at answering autumn-related questions like, “What three foods are the most common for an American Thanksgiving feast?” and, “What is the name for a baby turkey?” Teams that earned ten or more points advanced to the second round of the tournament, which was a leaf-blowing contest. Leaves were dropped onto tables, and teams tried to blow them away from their side of the table. The teams with the fewest remaining leaves qualified for the third and final round of the competition, which was a relay. Teammates took turns racing across the room while balancing a pinecone on a spoon that was held in their mouths. The team with the most pinecones was declared the winner!

Next, there was time for singing. Chris Luka led in a collection of songs that included “Glory, Glory, Glory,” “Father Abraham,” and “Isn’t He Faithful?” Then Erik Calhoun took prayer requests and led the group in a prayer. The evening's Bible study was guided by Marcus Luka, who divided the young people into six groups. The groups were given two Bible verses and fifteen minutes to come up with a skit that portrayed the meaning behind those verses, many of which were related to spreading the Gospel and the time for harvest. After each group performed their skit, they were given ratings by three judges for their spiritual relevance, group participation, and dramatic feel.

Brother Marcus wrapped up the Bible study with a few words, encouraging the young people to spread the Gospel anywhere and everywhere. He then led a closing prayer and invited everyone to stay and pray longer, which many did. It was a blessed time, enjoyed by all who attended.
