On the evening of Saturday, July 5, the combined youth choir and orchestra presented a powerful concert titled “Lord, You’re Holy,” delivering an evening of inspiring music and worship under the direction of Youth Music Director, Erik Calhoun.

The program opened with a presentation of the American flag by a color guard, followed by a stirring rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” performed by a young men’s quartet and accompanied by the orchestra. The patriotic theme continued with the rousing “Stars and Stripes Forever,” featuring a vocal ensemble of nine singers along with the full youth choir and orchestra.

The orchestra then led the audience in worship with “How Great Is Our God paired with the timeless hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.” This was followed by the concert’s title piece, “Lord, You’re Holy,” presented by the youth choir and orchestra, with soloist Sierra Mixer, offering a deeply reverent acknowledgment of God’s character.

The choir continued with “I Speak Jesus,” with Noah Mocan as soloist. The song speaks of Jesus’ power and faithfulness, calling on Him to “break every stronghold, shine through the shadows, burn like a fire.” The youth brass ensemble then brought joyful energy with “This Little Light of Mine” and “Joshua,” each piece marked by enthusiastic execution.

Siblings Susan, Sarah, and Sam Asaya, joined by the choir, delivered a powerful performance of “God,” centering the evening’s message around divine faithfulness and presence. Ty Mom, violin soloist, gave a beautiful performance of “Ode to Joy,” accompanied by the orchestra.

The young men’s quartet returned with the energetic Gospel favorite “Gettin’ Ready to Leave This World.” As the concert neared its conclusion, the choir sang “All Rise with Holy, Holy, Holy!” with soloist Sarah Asaya delivering a strong and expressive lead vocal that underscored the majesty and holiness of God.

The final piece, “Come, Jesus, Come,” featuring soloist Holly Lee, brought the evening to a reflective close. The plea for Christ’s return was delivered with gentle power, concluding the concert with reverence and hope.

Every element of the concert reflected the evening’s central message: that God is holy, faithful, and worthy of praise. The youth, through their music and unity, gave a memorable testimony of worship and purpose.
