Prelude: The orchestra opened the service with “Father, Lift Me Up” and “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name,” followed by the choir singing “Be Exalted, O God.”

First Special: A mixed quartet sang “We Trust in the Name of the Lord.”

Last Special: Ashley Morgan (pictured above) sang “Near to the Heart of God” with “Nearer My God to Thee,” accompanied by Caleb Copko on bass and Michael McCarville on guitar.

Sermon: Using Matthew 5:4 for his text, Dave Lambert’s explained that God’s Word describes a right way and a wrong way to mourn, and gave examples of the blessing of godly mourning, which does not involve grumbling or murmuring. He said godly sorrow can lead to repentance and salvation, and ultimately, to eternal life.
