Prelude: Josef Ruiz played “The Swan” on the piano, followed by a string duet of Trina Ruiz and Drew Fiegalan playing “Oh the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus.” Ily Fiegalan and Liz Ruiz then sang “It Is Well with My Soul.”

Featured Testimonies: Robert Ruiz (pictured above) mentioned some challenges his family has faced over the last two years including business struggles and sickness, but he is thankful none of that was able to stop God’s mercy. Joey Ruiz shared how he nearly died as a baby but the Lord undertook, and he is also thankful the Lord saved him in 2005. Francis Ola-Odudu spoke of his daughter’s recent wedding and all the sickness that preceded it, but he is thankful the Lord healed each time and he was able to give her away on her wedding day. Angie Andrews told how she had neck surgery one month ago and although it was very scary, the Lord was there, and it went very well.

Sermon: Darrel Lee taught on the doctrine of sanctification, using 1 Thessalonians 5:23 as his first text. He explained the difference between justification (salvation) and sanctification, stating that justification brings forgiveness for sinful actions, while sanctification deals with the underlying carnal condition.
