The fourth annual camp meeting in the Dominican Republic was held August 6-9 at the Villa Vacacional Roselis in Cabreto, Santo Domingo. The event was led by Deivys Pichardo, the Dominican Republic District Superintendent, with the theme “The Path of Faith.” It was a time for fellowship and unity in seeking God, strengthening Christian brotherhood, and encouraging one another to continue walking this path of faith.

Campers began arriving on Thursday afternoon, August 6, from branch church locations across the country, and joyful greetings resonated throughout the villa. The pastors who were present prayed over the venue, asking for God’s riches blessings on the gathering.

That evening, the first service was a beautiful time of worship through congregational singing, testimonies, and an exhortation from God’s Word. Everlyn Pichardo of Nigua delivered the message from Philippians 1:6: “He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it.” A wonderful time of prayer followed as many hungered for more of God.

Friday began early with a service at 6:00 a.m., in which Vitalina Valdez of Nigua, preached. This was followed by breakfast and a welcome ceremony. Then, a Sunday school session, led by two teachers, focused on the importance of seeking God. Along with the lessons and singing, there were activities, and prizes were given away, including school supplies. The session concluded with a reflection from Laura Pichardo, the National Sunday School Superintendent, titled “What a Silly Frog.” With text from Isaiah 55:6, she emphasized that no one should put off seeking God. At the altar call, several teenagers and children went forward to pray, demonstrating a clear desire to draw closer to the Lord.

In the afternoon hours, Bible studies covered the doctrines of salvation (repentance, justification, regeneration, and restitution), sanctification, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and diving healing.

In the evening service, as brethren from different locations joined in praise through song, God’s presence was felt in a mighty way. Among the selections, the congregation sang “How Glorious Is the Change Wrought in Me,” a soloist sang “To the High and Exalted One,” and another sang “He Touched Me.” The sermon was given from Revelation 1:5-8 on “Worthy Is the Lamb” by Heriberto Martinez, pastor in La Romana. He urged all to prepare for the imminent return of Christ. At the altars afterward, as people made the decision to serve God, lives were saved, sanctified, and renewed in the Spirit.

Saturday was filled with activity. In the morning, the saints were especially happy to celebrate with three individuals as they took the step of obedience in water baptism, publicly declaring their new life in Christ. Also, a pastors’ and ministers’ meeting was held, and it served to encourage these leaders to persevere in the work of the Lord.

In the afternoon, a national youth gathering took place with the theme “You Are the Chosen One,” taken from 1 Peter 2:9. It included a prayer devotional, several games, and a message delivered by Aneudys de Jesus. It was a wonderful time of fun and fellowship.

In the evening, various youth choirs participated in the service, as well as the women’s choir from Quisqueya. As they sang, the glory of God descended, and praise flowed. The sermon was given by Nelson de la Cruz, the National Youth Superintendent, on “The Chosen One,” taken from 1 Samuel 16:23. He emphasized that God has a purpose for each person’s life, and he urged all to recognize their callings and dedicate their talents for God’s use. A special time of consecration prayer followed the service, led by the ministers, and God moved among the seekers in a powerful way.

The closing day began with Sunday school for all ages, and then a thanksgiving service centered on thanking God for all He had done in the prior days. Brother Deivys gave the message based on Jeremiah 6:16: “Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.” He encouraged all to hold fast to the proven paths and pass on a pure, holy, and anointed Gospel to the next generation.

As the saints prepared to return home, they said goodbye with hearts full of gratitude for all God had done. During the camp meeting, several received salvation and diving healing, and one group experienced spiritual renewal.
