From the Superintendent's DESK
Beloved graduates, parents, family members, friends, and the Church of God:
We are celebrating a significant milestone in the lives of our graduates. This moment represents years of dedication, perseverance, and sacrifice—but above all, it stands as a testimony to God’s faithfulness. On behalf of the Apostolic Faith Church family worldwide, I extend heartfelt congratulations to each of our graduates for reaching this important and memorable milestone.
As you stand at the threshold of a new chapter, we encourage you to anchor your lives in the timeless wisdom of Proverbs 3:5–6: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Within this passage are three essential principles for a life of purpose and fulfillment: 1. Trust God completely, 2. Do not rely on your own understanding, and 3. Acknowledge God in everything you do. If you hold fast to these truths, God will direct your paths in life.
You are stepping into a rapidly changing world—one driven by innovation, shaped by uncertainty, and filled with both opportunity and challenge. Technology will evolve, industries will shift, and trends will come and go. But one thing remains unchanging: the Word of God. Trends fade, but truth endures. Success without God is merely a temporary achievement, but success with God creates a legacy that lasts for generations.
For the past few weeks, our Daybreak devotional and Discovery Sunday School lessons have focused on the Book of Proverbs. So, please allow me to share a few guiding principles with you from that same Book of Proverbs:
First, never sacrifice your values to gain an advantage. Proverbs 16:8 says, “Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.” It is better to climb slowly with integrity than to rise quickly through compromise. True prosperity is in what God gives you. As the saying goes, “If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.” So stand for Jesus. Stand on the Word of God.
Second, guard your relationships. The people you walk with often determine the places you arrive. Surround yourself with individuals who support you in the faith, refine your character, and encourage your purpose. The Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 27:17, “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” The Bible also warns us that “evil communications corrupt good manners” (1 Corinthians 15:33). So choose your friends wisely.
Third, remain teachable. Proverbs 9:9 says, “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” Graduation is not the end of education—it is the beginning of lifelong learning. Growing and learning do not stop with your graduation. Remember that the moment you stop learning is the moment you stop growing, and the moment you stop growing is the moment you stop learning.
Most importantly, keep God at the center of your life. Again, remember Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart.” Degrees can help earn a living, but only God gives life its true meaning. Careers may provide income, but your true purpose comes from God who created you. Never become so educated that you feel you no longer need God, nor so successful that you forget the God who brought you this far.
The Apostle Paul declared in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Notice that Paul did not say “some” things or “most” things—he said all things through Christ.
As you step into your future, carry this final thought with you: Your greatest achievement will not be what you accomplish for yourself, but what God accomplishes through you for others.
May the Lord bless your life as a testimony of His grace. Go forward with faith, walk in wisdom, serve with humility, and shine for Jesus. Remember to read the Bible and pray every day—committing your lives to God each day.
Congratulations, Class of 2026. Your future is bright because your God is faithful. Remember, the best is yet to come!
May God bless you exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think of in Jesus Name.
In Christ,
Sola Adesope
