On the weekend of September 25-28, the Apostolic Faith Church in Worth, Illinois, held special meetings themed “The Homecoming Weekend.” Saints gathered for the ten-year anniversary to worship, and they came expecting a blessing, a renewal of faith, and to feel the joy of reunion. The atmosphere was charged with reverence and excitement as families returned, visitors joined in, and members recommitted their lives to the God who has been faithful through the years. It was more than a series of services. It was a celebration of community, continuity, and spiritual transformation.

Thursday evening set the tone for the weekend, as everyone committed the meeting into God’s hands and prayed that He would draw people closer to Him. During congregational singing, hearts were stirred and a sense of expectancy filled the sanctuary. Several testimonies were shared, each one a reminder of God’s ability to redeem and restore. Karen Storey, from Van Buren, Arkansas, preached about God’s golden rule—Love—encouraging those present to open themselves to a renewal and to get right with God.

A Homecoming service was held on Friday night. Specials and congregational songs of praise added to the atmosphere of joy. During the testimony service, people spoke of the mighty works of God in their lives and also in the Worth church over the years. The sermon carried a strong call to commitment to God and complete surrender to His directions with steadfast faith. As the message drew to a close, an altar call was extended. Everyone got on their knees, seeking God’s help to stay committed and true.

On Saturday morning, the program shifted toward reflection and celebration. The day started with a symposium focusing on the youth. It also moved the congregation from inspiration into instruction. Leaders and speakers offered answers to questions asked during the sessions to encourage spiritual growth and provide practical steps for living out one’s faith. This time together underscored the church’s commitment not only to inspire, but also to equip.

A celebratory song service was the feature on Saturday night. Following the youth choir, congregational singing was led by a praise team. The evening ended with a sermon by Joshua Idowu that focused on the importance of not forsaking gathering with the people of God. He stressed the importance of being right with God, starting from the foundational doctrine of salvation. He encouraged everyone to pray and to watch out for tactics that the enemy uses to trick Christians and youth in the world today. The youth prayed and sought God as ministers, workers, and parents prayed alongside them. The blessing of revival came down and was surely experienced by all.

Sunday morning began with the saints gathering in the prayer room, earnestly seeking God’s blessing on the day and for everyone to be a partaker. Sunday school was followed by the devotional service. Those in attendance were encouraged to seek God, remember His promises, and equip themselves to live faithfully in a challenging world. After the service, everyone fellowshipped together with grateful and happy hearts. Those present were especially grateful for the spiritual milestone—a reminder that God, who has been faithful in years past, remains faithful. This weekend was a testimony of God’s presence among His people and a promise of even greater things to come.
