Special Meetings in Athens, Georgia, were held August 21–23 with the theme “Possibility,” taken from Matthew 19:26: “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” The Athens congregation enjoyed a deeply blessed weekend as saints and friends traveled from near and far, with several branch churches represented. The meetings were marked by uplifting music, heartfelt testimonies, inspiring preaching, and rich fellowship. Also, a particular emphasis was placed on seeking God in prayer and believing Him for the seemingly impossible.

Friday evening’s revival service began with a flute and clarinet duet by Mabel Hunsu and Similoluwa Dunmoye. The choir presented “Ah, Lord God” and “Christ Is the Answer” and the congregational singing was led by Arinze Nwachukwu from Evans, Georgia. Several testimonies of victory followed, sharing God’s transforming power in salvation, His protection in times of danger, and His remarkable provision through difficult circumstances.

Before the message, Deborah Fakiyesi’s rendition of “Got Any Rivers?” highlighted that God specializes in things thought impossible. Tony Boyce, the guest minister and pastor of Woodlake, California, then preached from Matthew 19:26. Focusing on the words “with God,” he emphasized that the question is not whether God is able, but whether we are truly with Him. Through the examples of David, Joshua, and the Rich Young Ruler, he challenged the congregation to remain close to God and fully surrendered to His will. The evening concluded with an earnest altar service as worshipers gathered to seek God in prayer.

Saturday featured two special gatherings. The morning began with a prayer breakfast facilitated by Brother Arinze. Those present brought specific prayer requests before the Lord and joined together in an hour of earnest prayer, looking to God in faith and trusting Him for answers. A short break for breakfast and fellowship followed.

Afterward, Reginald Segres, that pastor at Kingstree, South Carolina, led an interactive workshop centered on “Participating in the Possibilities God Provides.” He emphasized that simply believing in God’s power is not enough; Christians must also be willing participants in what God desires to accomplish. Drawing from the principle, “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase” (1 Corinthians 3:6), Brother Reginald applied this truth to evangelism, family life, spiritual growth, healing, and ministry. Participants were challenged to identify possibilities for which they were trusting God and to consider specific steps of obedience and participation they could take. The session closed with the challenge that the inspiration of the meetings should ultimately produce visible fruit in the churches, families, and communities represented.

Sunday morning brought the meetings to a joyful conclusion. The service opened with an orchestration of “He’s Still King of Kings,” followed by the choir singing “Shout to the Lord.” Congregational singing was led by Paul Agbaje from Fort Worth, Texas. Special music included “Nothing Is Impossible” by the choir and “He’ll Do It Again,” presented by a quartet. Both selections fittingly reinforced the weekend’s theme.

For the morning message, Brother Tony returned to Matthew 19:26 and brought together the messages of the weekend. On Friday, he had emphasized “being with God” and on Saturday, he had challenged the congregation to “show up and participate” in what God desires to do. On Sunday, the focus had turned to another essential ingredient for possibility: faith. Brother Tony reminded the congregation that it is one thing to say that all things are possible with God, but another to truly believe God and receive His Word with faith. With an opening text from Hebrews 11:6, he encouraged the congregation not to allow fear, human weakness, or preconceived ideas to stand in the way of simple faith. He reminded the saints that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness and that those who come to Him must believe that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. The service concluded with an altar call and an extended season of individual prayer at the altar.

As the Athens special meetings came to an end, hearts were encouraged and faith was strengthened. The saints left with renewed confidence that when God’s people remain with Him, faithfully participate in His work, and believe His Word, all things are possible. The congregation was also challenged not to allow the message of “Possibility” to end with the weekend, but to continue planting and watering through prayer, Gospel outreach, faithful service, and personal obedience while trusting God to give the increase.
