Prelude: The Serenaders bluegrass group (pictured below) played several hymns, including “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” “Do Lord,” and “In My Heart there Rings a Melody.” They ended with Chris and Julianne Luka singing “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.”

Featured Testimonies: Trisha Cripps spoke of giving her heart to the Lord at the age of seven at a Midwest camp meeting. Later in life, she wanted confirmation that her salvation was her own choice and not just her Christian upbringing, so she reconsecrated her life to God and received that assurance. Kenny Cripps told how he had been raised in this church, but as a teenager, he found himself with the wrong friends and in a bad situation. The Lord talked to him that night, and as a result he asked God to forgive him and was saved. Earl Phillips told of his upbringing and how God wonderfully saved him, and said his one desire is to be like Jesus.

First Special: The choir sang “Joy in My Heart,” with Deborah Brenner as the soloist.

Last Special: Kylie Lucescu and Randy Baltzell sang “Sheltered in the Arms of God.”

Sermon: Gary Riler read Psalm 33:1-10 and Colossians 2:8-10, and explained that God’s Word is the only true source of guidance for one’s life. A person can only be complete by surrendering his or her life to Jesus Christ.
