09-18-2022 – Sunday Evening Service

Prelude: Henry Parker, Curt Cook, and Marcus Luka played “I’d Rather Have Jesus” and “Glory to His Name” on their trombones.

Baby Dedication: John Musgrave read from Mark 10:13-16 and commented that parents want the best for their children, which means bringing them to Jesus. He encouraged the congregation to not only pray for the two boys who were being dedicated that evening, but to also pray for the parents, that they will continue making faithful service to the Lord a priority. A young cousins’ quartet sang “Jesus Loves Me” and “Create in Me,” and then Brother John led in a prayer of dedication for his grandsons Bradley Nathaniel Musgrave and Roy Steven Musgrave, sons of Johnny and Erica Musgrave.

Featured Testimonies: Emmaline Worthington was thankful for God’s guidance throughout her life, and that she can lean on Him in trials and stressful situations. Bob Downey shared that he and his wife recently celebrated fifty years of marriage, and the Lord has been there in every decision they have made. Janice Calhoun expressed her appreciation for the joy the Lord gives for the journey, and also for the music lessons her mom provided so she could have a part in the church music, starting with piano lessons at age seven. Jessica Oilar described how she lost her phone while on a walk, but when she prayed, the Lord helped her find it.

First Special: The choir sang “Southern Gospel Medley.”

Last Special: Peter Moberg sang “Arise, My Soul, Arise.”

Sermon: John Musgrave used Hebrews 6:13-19 for his text, exhorting his listeners to be anchored in the Rock Christ Jesus rather than fearing events to come, whether death, tribulation, or the Rapture.
