Sunday, September 11, was an exciting day for Sunday school students—Promotion Sunday! After general assembly, the Primary and Junior Department students went to their departments where they first had time say goodbye to their teachers from the past year. Before meeting their new teachers for the 2022-2023 school year, the Primaries gathered to say goodbye to sixteen fifth graders who were moving over to the Junior Department, and the Juniors bid farewell to eighteen graduating eighth graders. Then teachers came and collected their new students for their first class time together. The Primaries learned about how Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt, while Juniors studied the fulfillment of Bible prophecy relating to the nation of Israel.
The Beginner Department promotion took place one week later on September 18. The morning began as usual with time for singing together and prayer, and then the old classes had time to visit one last time. Following this, thirteen Kindergarten graduates were given a special goodbye gift and then were led them to the Primary Department. The remaining Beginners were assigned new classes, where they learned about how Captain Namaan was healed of leprosy.
The new classes are already off to a great start, with everyone looking forward to spending the upcoming year having fun and learning about the Lord!
