07-04-2021 — Sunday Evening Service

Prelude: The orchestra performed “People Need the Lord” and “Fanfare & Processional on ‘God of Our Fathers.’” The choir and orchestra then gave a musical tribute to all those who have served in the military, highlighting the theme song of each branch of military service. Those who have served in the various branches of service stood while their song was presented (pictured below: Air Force veterans Milt Friesen, Ted Friesen, and Tom Pricskett).

Featured Testimonies: Veteran Duane Wilson told how God brought him to a place of prayer where he received mercy and forgiveness, beginning his knowledge of God’s unconditional love. He also gave examples of God’s leading in his life since then, including helping him make restitution and pay back immense debts that were the result of sins he had committed before finding the Lord.

Veteran Dan Scholz testified of God’s faithfulness to him. He was raised in a Christian family and was saved while in military training. God protected him during his time in Vietnam, and has continued to be faithful to him, including when his family's home recently was destroyed in a fire. God provided a safe escape for Dan and his wife, and provision since that time.

First Special: A Worthington/Luka family sextet sang “I Hear America Singing.”

Last Special: Julia Rael sang “I Believe.”

Sermon: Wayne Butler read Ezekiel 47:3-5, and explained how the deepening waters that Ezekiel saw parallel a person starting in the Gospel and then going deeper in the Christian journey to receive sanctification, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and more.
