Prelude: Andrea Gaston played “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “He Leadeth Me” on the cello.

Testimonies: Tom Lambert was thankful that years ago the Lord saved him at a children’s meeting, gave him peace, and has continued to show His lovingkindness throughout his life. Betty Lambert shared that recently she fell off the porch onto her patio, hitting her head, but she is thankful she had no brain damage. Kathy Green told of a recent trip to the grocery store where she witnessed an older man crying as he was on his cell phone. The Lord compelled her to share that she was praying for him, which he told her he appreciated. Roberta Parker gave thanks for the Lord being a wonderful Teacher to both her and her husband throughout the years, and she stated that even in the hard places, there has been joy and contentment.

First Special: The choir sang “The Name of the Lord.”

Last Special: Heidi Copko (pictured above) sang “Be Still and Know.”

Sermon: Erik Calhoun read 2 Timothy 1:6 for his text, encouraging his listeners to stir up, or renew, the gift of God within them. He went on to give steps to accomplishing this, which included: 1) Search your heart; 2) Pray more; 3) Encourage others (positive peer pressure); and 4) Spend time in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord.
