Prelude:  A trombone ensemble performed “He Will Carry You” and “Down at the Cross.” The choir followed, singing “Blessed Be the Name.”

First Special:  A men’s quartet (pictured above) sang “That’s What Jesus Means to Me.”

Scripture Reading: Dave Lambert read Matthew 9:36-38; 10:1-4, 22.

Last Special: The men’s quartet sang “Jesus Came and Rescued Me.”

Sermon: Darrel Lee read Matthew 10:22, stating that in this Christian race there first must be a start, which is when a person is born again. After that, there must be endurance, which means pressing forward in the Gospel way until the finish line, which is the goal of Heaven.
