01-16-2022 – Sunday Evening Service

Prelude: The Serenaders (pictured above) played “Give Them All to Jesus,” “Amazing Grace,” “Grace Greater Than Our Sin,” “What a Friend,” and “Come and Dine.”

Featured testimonies: Matt Hanson testified that he was raised going to church, but did not have a personal relationship with the Lord or an assurance of Heaven. Then he prayed and Jesus came into his heart, bringing peace about Heaven and daily friendship and guidance. Roberta Parker said her grandfathers on both sides of her family left their homes and occupations behind in order to raise their children in the Gospel, and as a result, she prayed and was saved at age eleven.

First Special: The choir sang “We’re Not Defeated.”

Last Special: Deborah Brenner sang “Let the Words of My Mouth.”

Sermon: John Musgrave read 1 Timothy 4:8, and said Paul’s examples of athletes striving to win temporary crowns were admonishments to Christians to be more disciplined in obtaining the ultimate crown, eternal life.
