A
favorite date:
We met at Portland
Campmeeting. Just days later, we found out we both wanted
to spend a day at the beach, so we drove to Cannon Beach
together.
I knew it was close to her
birthday, but she wouldn't tell me which day it was.
So, I made a joke about typically unflattering drivers'
licenses photos. She wanted to see my picture, which
I willingly showed, and then it was only fair that she
show me her picture too. Really I just wanted to see
her birthdate. To my delight, it was that very day!
At noon I told her I was treating
her to a birthday lunch. She objected, insisting I didn't
know when her birthday was. When she learned how I found
out it really was her birthday, she was a little miffed
at my sneakiness, but enjoyed her birthday meal anyway.
We got to talking over lunch,
and lost track of time. We hurried back to the beach
for awhile. Too soon our time was gone, and we started
back to Portland. |
