Showtime For The Sheep? The Church And The Passion of The Christ
Author: T. A. McMahon
ISBN: 1928660134
Reviewer: Conrad Canning
Is Mel Gibson's movie biblically correct? Have silver-screen portrayals of biblical epics become the new "silver bullet" of evangelism? While "Showtime for the Sheep?" addresses these questions with eye-opening insights, it is far more than a critical examination of “The Passion of the Christ.” This book addresses several growing trends in the church in the media-mesmerized society we live in. The increasing use of entertainment and amusement to teach the Word of God, expanding efforts to make the Gospel message more "seeker-sensitive," the advancing cause of ecumenism over evangelism, the multiplying effect of doctrinal error through increasingly popular paraphrased Bibles, and the proliferation of visual interpretations of Scripture are all addressed in this book.

The Lie: Evolution
Author: Ken Ham
ISBN: 0890511586
Reviewer: Sam Cantrell
Geared to a more mature audience, this book shows how evolution is trying to destroy the truths taught in Genesis, why this is important to us as Christians, and why we should care about our "foundation." It is supplemented by Scripture, and has very cool illustrations!

The Case for Faith
Author: Lee Strobel
ISBN: 0310234697
Reviewer: Brian Cole
Strobel is an evangelical Christian and a journalist. Instead of sharing his own knowledge or quoting from other texts, he does what a reporter is supposed to do - interview primary sources of information.
Strobel, also the author of "The Case for Christ," poses various criticisms of Christianity to different evangelical scholars in a straightforward manner: "Since evil and suffering exist, a loving God cannot," "Evolution explains life, so God isn't needed," "God isn't worthy of worship if he kills innocent children," and "A loving God could never torture people in hell."
Strobel grills his subjects something like a real skeptic would. The answers he gets are Scriptural, clear, and sometimes state what the underlying issue really is. The "Case for Faith" is a must-read apologetic.

Developing a Christian Worldview of the Problem of Evil
Author: Charles Colson
ISBN: 0842355847
Reviewer: Amy Scholes
Based on the premise that everyone holds a "world view," either Christian or humanist. Charles Colson presents a stunning argument for the existence of original sin. He demonstrates how the denial of man's responsibility for wrongdoing is the underlying cause for false doctrine, social, and economic problems.
Would you like to be a more effective witness to your friends and family, co-workers and neighbors? This book will help you develop an understanding of modern rationale which denies the sinfulness of man.
Colson's book (and the others in this series, "How Now Shall We Live?") are a MUST READ for preachers, teachers, high school and college students, and all who would become more effective in reaching lost souls.

The Forgotten Trinity: Recovering the Heart of Christian Belief
Author: Dr. James E. White
ISBN: 1556617259
Reviewer: Brian Cole
"I love the Trinity." That is Dr. James White's opening line in this excellent book that defends the Scripturalness of the Divine Trinity. Your love for this doctrine will be rekindled by the time you've finished reading, and re-reading, this book. You won't trade this book away— although you might give a copy to a friend.
The book shows several lines of solid evidence that clearly prove that the Bible establishes the true nature of God—three divine persons who make up one being. The book discusses the Johannine masterpiece, John 1:1-18, the prologue to the Gospel of John. In one way and then in another, White's book shows that this passage of Scripture only makes sense within a Trinitarian framework. This basic idea is also presented in Hebrews chapter 1, Philippians 2:5-11, and many other passages.
When I first got this book, I did not yet believe in the Trinity, but the solid development of Scriptural testimony made a believer out of me. You will read how Colossians 2:8-9 shows that Christ is as much God as is the Father; and how the writer of the Book of Hebrews quotes Psalm 102:25-29, which discusses the activity of almighty God.
Don't miss reading this treasure!

The Collapse of Evolution
Author: Scott M. Huse
ISBN: 0801057744
Reviewer: Amy Scholes
Parents, students, teachers, pastors, and all those interested in presenting a clear and understandable argument for Creation should read this book. If you have never read anything on the subject, Huse's book is a good place to start.
Huse points out that the majority of all arguments against the Christian religion are based upon an evolutionist world-view: that man evolved and was not created. If there is no Creator, then there was no fall of man; without the fall of man there would be no original sin; without original sin there would be no need for a Savior.
"The Collapse of Evolution" displays the fallacies and impossibilities of the evolution theory from science itself, including amazing proofs of God's specially designed universe.

Relativism: Feet Firmly Planted in Mid-Air
Author: Francis J. Beckwith, Gregory Koukl
ISBN: 0801058066
Reviewer: Amy Scholes
This book will help you recognize, understand and refute moral relativism—the prevailing ethical view of our time.
Can morality be neutral? How should you answer someone who says, "That's wrong for you but not wrong for me. Don't force your morality on me!” How do you respond to someone who claims "there is no right or wrong”? In this book you will learn how to give an intelligent argument for the existence of God and every person's need for a Savior, as well as how to refute the idea that morality is an individual's choice.
