Philippines Camp Meeting

December 27-31, 2008

The 2008 Apostolic Faith “Year-End Consecration” camp meeting in the Philippines was an overwhelming success. It was held at the headquarters church in Bagong Sikat on December 27-31, with over four hundred in attendance. Among the guests were three Apostolic Faith organizational leaders and their wives: Superintendent General, Reverend Darrel Lee and his wife, Debbie; Director of Asia Work, Reverend Bill McKibben and his wife, Lori; and South Korea Superintendent, Reverend Young Keun Park and his wife, Seung Ja. The premise for the meetings was “Rebuilding and Straightening the Gates of Spiritual Progression,” and the theme verses were Isaiah 35:3-4. The District Superintendent of the Apostolic Faith work in the Philippines, Reverend Zenaida Ruiz, was in charge of running the services, and the speakers included the three visiting organizational leaders.

There are currently twenty established Apostolic Faith Churches in the Philippines, with eight other groups who meet in homes. After the camp meeting ended, Reverend Ruiz guided the Lees, McKibbens, and Parks on daily excursions to visit most of the churches and groups. The guests were welcomed and served snacks or meals at every stop along the way, which always concluded with a formal prayer for God’s blessing to be upon the church, the church members, and the local community. The spirit of unity was a tremendous encouragement to the guests, as well as the church members who were visited.
