What's Next?

At any given moment, one question is on the lips of countless people. “What do I do now?” Facing decisions or difficult circumstances, they want answers. They want direction, they want someone to guide them. Too often, no answer comes. They are left to struggle through on their own. And many times the decisions they make only bring more uncertainty and trouble into their lives.

Animals are endowed with instincts that direct them at all times. But what about man? Why is it that he is so often unsure what to do next? Why must he grope about in the darkness while mere beasts walk a pathway illuminated by their inborn knowledge? Why? Because God designed man to look to Him for guidance. From the beginning, His plan was that man would love and serve his Creator, and would trust God to lead him through life.

But man didn’t waste any time making it clear that he felt he could take care of himself. And the result of this decision? We are left with a world that is a pathetic commentary on the prophet’s words, “I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps” (Jeremiah 10:23).

So what can we do? Well, sadly, it’s too late to save the world. But if you are without direction today, if you don’t know which way to turn, God is waiting to help you. By turning your life over to Him, you will discover an amazing way of life that you never believed possible. You will find that God is your friend, and that He knows you and loves you like no human being ever could. More than that, He alone can see the future—your future—and He knows what’s best for you. Don’t waste any more time in the darkness. Come to the light of Jesus Christ today.
