Family Budget Chart
Managing your family’s finances can be intensely challenging at times.
The following chart, which is based on income and expenses for a family
of four, can help you determine what portion of your spendable income
should be allotted to the various categories. By multiplying your net
income by the percentages given, you can obtain the approximate dollar
amount you should budget for each need. For example, for a family with
a household income of $35,000 per year, and thus a monthly net income
of $2,190, their monthly budget for food should be about $263 (2190 times
.12 equals 262.8). Obviously, this is just a guide to use as a starting
point for developing a workable budget based on your actual income and
particular needs.
