Craft Corner: Paper Quilt

Making a paper quilt is a project that is easy enough for children, but fun even for adults!

Needed supplies:

•  white or colored butcher paper the size of your finished quilt or banner

•  various bright colors of 8.5" x 11" paper

•  templates or patterns for butterflies, flowers, fish, or various other christian symbols. (Try enlarging some of the shapes from our Primary Pals pattern books.)

•  glue sticks or other adhesive

•  scissors

•  wooden dowels wider than the banner paper

•  heavy-duty staple gun

•  cord for hanging

Directions: Give each child a choice of colored papers and templates and patterns to cut out shapes. Have them arrange the shapes onto colored paper and glue them on. Glue the individual works of art onto the butcher paper with equal margins between each sheet. Staple the butcher paper onto the dowel. Tie the cord to both ends of the dowel. Hang and display your beautiful paper quilt or banner!
