Featured Branch:
London, England

In April of 1976, a young minister, Brother Victor Okusanya from the Apostolic Faith Church in Nigeria, traveled to Britain to further his university education. He stayed at his sister's place and had to go with her family to their church. The practices in that church were not like those he was used to in the Apostolic Faith Church. One day he decided to stay home and do his Scripture studies and prayer alone.

He later wrote to Sister Ruth Ashwell in Portland to express his loneliness, and how he missed fellowshipping with Apostolic Faith Church members. Sister Ruth wrote back with names of some members of the Apostolic Faith Church residing in London that were also looking for people to fellowship with.

Brother Victor wrote to them, and about four people responded. They started meeting for fellowship every Sunday and every Wednesday in the sitting room of Brother Victor's sister's home. The group was very fervent and dedicated. God honored their commitment, and they grew rapidly.

In 1979, the late Reverend Loyce Carver; General Overseer of the Apostolic Faith work, visited the group. They were officially recognized as the nucleus of the Apostolic Faith Mission in the United Kingdom.

The group moved from the original sitting room to various bigger sitting rooms, before finally getting a proper building in late 1979 (Howbry Mission) where they could hold their church services. When the group had grown in number to almost fifty regular members, it was obvious that the Howbry Mission couldn't contain them any longer, and they had to move to the current location on Fenham Road in London. By 1980, the church name had been formally registered, and the group was led by Reverend Victor Okusanya until his retirement in 2000. By that time the congregation had increased to about three hundred.

In April of 2000 Reverend Isaac Adigun was appointed to take over the pastorate. The Adiguns and the London congregation have a genuine zeal for service in the vineyard of God. The congregation has continued to expand. There are many prayer centres in London, and several in other parts of Britain where members of the church meet every Sunday for worship under the banner of Apostolic Faith Mission, U.K.

The youth group of the Apostolic Faith Church in London is highly motivated and spirited. They are thriving. They have coined an acronym VOH (Vessels of Honor) for themselves. May the Lord continue to sustain them to live up to their name.

The Music department now holds annual Christmas concerts both in the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe. It is obvious that the church is now experiencing a pleasant problem: there is an urgent need for a bigger accommodation. The congregation in London, alone, has overfilled the existing church building, all the available space has been utilized to its maximum potential. They are looking unto God to provide them with a larger church building. The church has placed itself in the path of God's blessing, and He is pouring down Spiritual rain upon them.

Information about the schedule of services for the church in London is available here.
