On the Day of Pentecost, fifty days after Jesus arose from the grave, 120 people were gathered in an upper room praying. They had been instructed by Jesus to wait in Jerusalem until they had received the promise of the baptism of the Holy Ghost and power to witness. As they continued in one accord, making prayer and supplication, there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and they were filled with the Holy Ghost as evidenced by their speaking in other tongues.

Portland Camp Meeting 2011 is only one month away and soon the campground will be bustling with visitors from across the United States and various countries around the world.

We count it a privilege to host the many people who come to camp meeting to worship God, so every Memorial Day the Portland congregation, along with many from our branch churches, gathers for a work party to prepare the campground for our guests.

During the Sunday evening service in Portland, upcoming pastor changes for the North America region were announced to the congregation. These changes are scheduled to take place in August and September. Between now and then, there will be many details to be worked out, such as the exact timing of the moves, so we want to be sure to pray for everyone involved as these changes take effect.

The Cedars Congregation

Bob and Cheryl Downey arrived on the island of Saint Vincent on Wednesday for the quarterly convention of the eleven Apostolic Faith churches in that area. They have enjoyed a wonderful week of services and Brother Bob sends this report:

“Our first service was at the Cedars church on Thursday evening. Although the congregation is not large, they have a beautiful little church."
