Pastor's Journal

On Wednesday, our team in Romania arrived in Craiova, Romania’s sixth largest city. We have three churches and one outreach effort in the area. The first service was held in our Margaritesti church. The congregation of forty-five, including sixteen children, was already present and singing when our team entered the building. There was standing room only in the twelve by twenty foot space.

Our team in Europe arrived in Romania on Wednesday to at least a foot of snow. A service was held on Thursday evening in the Sanpetru German church where Ted Bora is the pastor. They were joined by Gigi Furdui, the District Superintendent of our Romania work. The wintry weather did not dampen the enthusiasm. About forty saints, most of whom had walked to the meeting, began singing as our team entered the building. The Spirit of God could be felt from the beginning of the service.

Our team in Haiti (Bob Downey, Eugene Segres, and Mark Worthington) received news first thing Friday morning that they would not be able to travel to our church in Grand Place because the entire country was out of gasoline. Knowing how much Pastor Gener Joudan and the saints at Grand Place were looking forward to their visit, they immediately prayed about the situation. Within just a few minutes of praying God answered in a remarkable way, and they received a phone call that a place had been found with enough gasoline for the trip.

A team of six left last week to visit several of our churches in Europe. The team includes John and Rodica Musgrave, Harlan and Debbie Lee, and Ben and Iudita Clapa. Their first stop was our group in Rossano, Italy, which is a town about forty-five minutes northwest of Venice. This is our second group in Italy and it is led by Leon Sangeorzan, who is originally from Romania.
