The Monday night concert by the combined Newfoundland musicians was outstanding. Presented in concert dress, every number was inspiring. An audience approaching four hundred in number heard the choir, vocal duets, trios, and quartets, as well as three solos.

A group similar to our Serenaders played “I’ll Fly Away” using accordions, tambourines, guitars, a violin, and a melodic — which is like a harmonica, but has a keyboard on top.

Debbie and I are in Canada, along with several others from the Portland congregation, to participate in the first ever Newfoundland camp meeting.

image As we entered the sanctuary on the first day, August 28, the congregation of about three hundred began singing “I Came Here Expecting God to Move.” A fifty-voice choir then sang "I Just Feel Like Something Good Is about to Happen" before Rene Cassell, our Canada District Superintendent, extended a hearty greeting to delegates assembled from all over Canada and beyond.

Sam and Shade Ajayi, who are scheduled to arrive home today, send this report of their week in Brazil:

image We arrived in Fortaleza, Brazil, on Wednesday, August 16. Our initial efforts were directed at operational meetings to develop the work there further. One of our goals was to find a suitable property where church meetings could be held.

Sam and Shade Ajayi arrived in Lima, Peru on Wednesday August 10 to spend a week meeting with individuals and groups who have expressed interest in the Apostolic Faith work.

At the close of their one-week stay, Brother Sam sent the following report:

image We concluded our trip with a positive outlook on the initial steps for starting a work in this beautiful country. We have had a very busy and profitable week. One pastor, along with a deacon from his church, traveled for twenty-six hours to meet with us (they came from the Puno region, which shares a border with Bolivia). They were very excited about our doctrines and the Sunday school curriculum. They presented me with a video of their worship services and a concert. The music, which was mostly hymns, was very impressive.
