God Weaves a Tapestry in Chile

Posted by: Darrel D. Lee on 1/26/2012

The conference and revival meetings in Chimbarongo, Chile, concluded on Sunday, and Sam Ajayi, Director of South America Work, sent the following report:

The wonderful reception that we experienced in Rengo followed us to Chimbarongo and continued through our stay there. Seven churches confirmed that they wish to be Apostolic Faith, and positive steps were taken to begin making it legal and official with the government.

image Extensive preparations had been made for the conference including securing a school for a meeting place. It was equipped with classrooms, restrooms, a kitchen, and a large assembly area where we held the services.

image The revival meetings were a great success. During the final service, the Chimbarongo church, which normally sings with inspired enthusiasm, was so moving with the backing of the other choirs that the Spirit of the Lord took control of the meeting and the rest of the program could not proceed as planned.

image The most common trade in Chimbarongo is weaving. The people are known for their exquisite tapestries and baskets. A local statue of two giant hands weaving caused me to wonder what varied and beautiful tapestries God would weave from the lives of the people in South America who have already or who will receive the Gospel through the outreach of the Apostolic Faith organization.

Brother Sam and his traveling companion, Rey Richardson of our Bronx, New York, church have now moved on to Argentina, where they will stay until returning home next Monday.
