Sunday, November 9, was a momentous day for the Apostolic Faith Church in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Their new house of worship in Smith Bay was dedicated after twenty years of construction. Since the groundbreaking ceremony in 1994, the project had been delayed several times due to a series of natural disasters and financial constraints beginning with Hurricane Marilyn in 1995.

Bill McKibben, Director of Asia Work, and his wife, Lori, are in the Philippines for two weeks, accompanied by Jim and Cheri White of Grants Pass, Oregon. They arrived late Wednesday and were met by members of the Ruiz family. On Thursday, they toured our first church in the Cavite province, which is about an hour’s drive south from Manila. This was Brother Bill’s first time to visit this location. He said it is clear that God has been honoring the efforts of the saints here; the regular Sunday attendance is between thirty and fifty.

image A final report has come in from John and Rodica Musgrave of their visit to the saints in Romania. On Friday, they attended church in Margaritesti, a small village of about nine hundred. Brother John said they enjoyed a nice service with gracious people who always appreciate greetings from Portland. Sister Rodica shared her testimony, and it was received with affirmations and tears. Afterwards, they had a good time of prayer followed by fellowship over the large meal they were served.
